- Expression of Interest are invited for Jordan Tourism Product Audit and Strategic Value Chain Diagnostic. Publication Date: 07-Apr-2022 Expression of Interest Deadline: 14-Apr-2022 Assignment Description The World Bank Group is seeking a firm to analyze and identify the product-level opportunities and constraints for Jordans tourism sector among high-potential market segments and provide considerations for achieving (through actions that private and public sector entities can take to address the identified issues) a more competitive industry in comparison to regional benchmarks. The assignment will develop a product audit and inventory of current tourism offerings in Jordan for five high-potential segments identified as established i) beach and sun and ii) cultural heritage segments; and emerging segments such as iii) faith; iv) adventure tourism; and v) MICE. It will compare the tourism offering of Jordan for these five segments to regional and other competitors (including European countries) with success in attracting these markets. For each segment, the assignment will analyze and identify constraints along its value chain affecting existing/potential tourists, focusing on critical items that are key to consumer decision when selecting a destination. The assignment will add to existing research by developing a product audit and inventory for selected market segments and undertaking a sector diagnostic at the product level within the selected market segments, including through a fieldwork, leading to a more focused, targeted, and specific analysis compared to existing analyses and studies. This activity will also reflect market and demand developments related to the impact of COVID, which are analyzed by UNWTO and other entities; as well as will consider change in market dynamics due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The latter conflict will lead to increased marketing efforts by regional competitor destinations that were heavily banking on the beach and sun Russian market such as Egypt, Turkey, Israel, Tunisia, and UAE
