IntroductionThe ILO is looking for a short-term service delivery by an individual to finalise and lay-out a country fact sheet of the Jordanian NDC in Arabic and English. The ILO has already compiled the data and an initial draft of the country summary. The consultant is expected to cross-check theaccuracy and completeness of the data against the 2nd Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of Jordan. If inconsistencies or gaps are identified, the consultant will highlight key areas that require clarification or additional input. The country NDC fact sheet will give a quick overview of how wellthe Jordan NDC reflects the policy areas and themes of the ILO Guidelines for at just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all.1. BackgroundDecent work is a cornerstone for effective policies to green economies for achieving sustainable development. This impliesthat efforts to reduce adverse environmental impact must lead to socially just outcomes with employment opportunities for all, thus calling for a just transition to environmentally sustainable economies for all. Just transition involves maximizing the social and economic opportunities of climate andenvironmental action, including an enabling environment for sustainable enterprises, while minimizing and carefully managing challenges.
