• Country: Jordan Description of the Assignment: As part of the project, UNDP Jordan CO will work with the government and local stakeholders to develop Landscape Resilience Investment Plan for the Dead Sea Basin area, the plan will emphasize the landscape's dimensions of all climate adaptation actions and prioritize feasible interventions with reference to geographical based climate risks assessment. The Landscape Resilience Investment Plan will consider the specific characteristics of the project area to identify adaptive interventions such as landscape water harvesting, groundwater recharge, and flash flood mitigation.The Climate Change Adaptation consultant will work closely with the project team, DRR focal point, government counterparts, and relevant stakeholders to lead on the preparations for the investment plans, engage local service providers to prepare relevant evaluation and feasibility studies, assess all climate risks, provide technical support, introduce international best practices, propose adaptive interventions, and coordinate with government, donors, and local organizations to accomplish the Landscape Resilience Investment Plan and communicate it to the key donorsand government ministries.The selected consultant will train and build the capacity of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation staff on developing similar plans in the future, assessing feasibility of proposed adaptive interventions, and embrace best practices on the implementation of these actions.
